MB Partlow grew up in a family that was part of the Witness Protection Program, and isn’t legally allowed to talk about it. She overcame crippling shyness to pursue her dream of being an Olympic equestrian, but when that career path closed, she co-founded an outlaw motorcycle gang with a French Canadian mime named Frederick. She isn’t legally allowed to talk about him, either. She currently enjoys being Teller to Shannon’s Penn.

A fan of all things fantastical and frightening, Shannon Lawrence writes primarily horror and fantasy. Her short stories can be found in over sixty anthologies and magazines in addition to her four collections. Christina Bergling has been writing since childhood. More than anything, she is a horror author, crafting creepy stories anywhere from psychological to horror-comedy.

Peter M. Klismet, Jr.

Peter M. Klismet, Jr. is a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, having served two submarine tours in the South China Sea. He served in the Ventura Police Department for nine years before being accepted as a Special Agent for the FBI. He was trained as a firearms instructor, hostage negotiator, and was one of the first to be trained in “Psychological Profiling,” serving until 1999, when he retired after being named 1999 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

He then became Department Chair and Associate Professor of the Criminal Justice Department at PPCC, retiring as Professor Emeritus.

He now consults and has authored four award-winning books.

Sam Knight

Sam Knight has worked for at least three different publishers, started his own publishing house, Knight Writing Press, curated over a dozen anthologies, authored six children’s books, four short story collections, four novels, and over 75 short stories, including three co-authored with Kevin J. Anderson, two of which were media tie-ins: a Planet of the Apes story and a Wayward Pines story.


A stay-at-home father, Sam attempts to be a full-time writer, but there are only so many hours left in a day after kids. Once upon a time, he was known to quote books the way some people quote movies, but now he claims having a family has made him forgetful, as a survival adaptation.
